A huge ovation for Pudzianowski from the fans while Sylvia is roundly and loudly booed. Both the Polish and American national anthems were played before the fight, with the crowd singing along to both. This is an awesome atmosphere.

Round 1: Sylvia jabs Pudzianowski early. Pudzianowski shoots in, grabs a leg. He takes Sylvia down to a huge ovation. Sylvia gets right back to his feet though. Pudzianowski holds him against the cage and throws a few knees. Sylvia circles free and lands a knee of his own. Pudzianowski stuffs him against the cage. Sylvia rocks Pudzianowski with a right. Pudzianowski’s bleeding from an elbow now. Sylvia asserting himself now with long jabs and an occasional right. Sylvia with a clinch and a knee. Pudzianowski looks exhausted with 1:20 left. Sylvia throws him down with :45 left. He moves to side control with :15 remaining, then postures up. Pudzianowski lasts the round. MMA Fighting scores it for Sylvia, 10-9.

Round 2: Sylvia with knees to the body and face in the opening seconds. Pudzianowski took both. Sylvia with some leg kicks. Not looking good for Pudzianowski, who goes down seconds later. Sylvia immediately moves to side control, then takes the crucifix and rains down punches until Pudzianowski taps. .

Who is Amber Frey? She was Scott Peterson’s mistress. She was a massage therapist. Because she was Peterson’s mistress, she became a key witness in the Scott Peterson murder trial.

Their affair began on November 20, 2002. Scott Peterson actually told Amber Frey that he had lost his wife. He also told her that he didn’t want to have children. On December 24, 2002, Scott Peterson reported his wife Laci Peterson missing. She was 8 months pregnant.

After a long investigation and trial in which Amber Frey played a key role, Scott Peterson was convicted of murdering his wife Lacy and their unborn child. He is currently in a California jail.

‘Amber Frey: Witness for the Prosecution’ is a 2005 movie starring Janel Maloney and Nathan Anders. It was on LIFE at 8 pm last night. The movie is a pedestrian account of the Scott Peterson murder case

You know, poor Amber Frey was also a victim. Obviously she wasn’t victimized like Lacy, but she still was lied to and mislead. Then, because of Scott Peterson, her entire life had to be put out there for the public to read about. She has kept a low profile in the years since the Scott Peterson murder trial.

I remember this story very well. I cried over Laci Peterson that Christmas. It was a horrifiying story that just got worse as time went by.

The next round of the Mac vs. PC cool commercial escalating arms race (I know Microsoft is not actually escalating, but I’m going somewhere with this, work with me) may be settled by a Linux box that will locate and play some better TV for you to enjoy.
Revenge of the nerds? For years Linux advocates had sand kicked in their faces by mainstream IT “experts”. “Linux is too nerdy” would run the familiar debate-ending tag line; “Nobody wants to trust their IT to a bunch of bearded, sandal wearing freaks…” And my own recurring favorite,” A lot of important connections were made at the show, while the Linux contingent sat in the corner shooting down aliens on their homemade computers…”
The condescending laughter ended when Google took Linux to the end of the telecommunications chessboard, and promoted that pawn to a queen: Android, Google’s open handset operating system guise of Linux, now runs a continuously increasing market share of smartphones from an increasing spectrum of manufacturers and carriers.
This week, the brash young monarch displayed some fresh powers, by crossing the board again, this time in just one move.
“Here we are folks — the multimillion-channel TV,” said Google project director Rishi Chandra during a two-hour keynote on Google’s Android operating system at the company’s annual I/O conference in San Francisco, California.
The platform will be available at Best Buy in the fall, US-only launch at first. TV watchers can search for content on TV much as we do on the web. And web content is fair game for the this TV offering, as well as DVR. Oh, and of course, TV. The device will be manufactured by Logitech with an Intel 1.2GHz Atom processor, 4GB memory, 802.11n Wi-Fi, dual HDMI-out ports, Dolby 5.1 surround sound and dual USB ports. Since we are in the world of open-source now, you will be able to hook up a webcam for 720p video chat.
With Android apps on your TV you can see a Twitter stream about a TV show scroll by, for example, while watching the show. You can organize your TV content like on Picasa, and for that matter, view your content on Picasa. And who knows what else! Is it possible to improve TV with apps? Philosophers have struggled with this question for ages, we are the first generation to find out.
But Google wins too, and big. “There’s still not a better medium to reach a wider and broader audience than television,” Chandra said.
Worldwide, 4 billion consumers continue to find refuge from the turmoil of information technology by basking in that soothing glow of perfectly connected yet perfectly solitary illumination…
“Videos should be consumed on the biggest, best, brightest screen in your house,” Chandra said. “That’s your TV.”
And it’s not just the biggest home entertainment market. It’s one that is fully and maturely monetized. And stable. Despite all the drama of web video, the spectacular success of YouTube, the Pyrrhic victory of a huge viewer market that no one knows how to monetize, the standards wars that make some phones Flash friendly and others — ahem — less so.., the old standby is still seated across from your sofa, tranquil as a stone Buddha waterfall, a bowl of potato chips in the demilitarized zone; your little living room Switzerland where the rest of the world is denied citizenship under any circumstances, and no matter how violent the programming, peace always reigns in the phosphorescent oasis…
Hi I’m a Mac, and I’m a PC, and though eye to eye we’ll seldom see,
on this for once we both agree: Nothing is cooler than to watch TV!

Dennis C. Blair will resign Friday as the nation’s intelligence director after a tenure marred by the recent failures of U.S. spy agencies to detect terrorist plots and by political missteps that undermined his standing with the White House.

Blair, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, was pushed out 16 months after he became President Obama’s surprise pick to be the nation’s third director of national intelligence. His departure is likely to renew debate over whether the DNI position, a daunting job created amid sweeping intelligence reforms after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, is fundamentally flawed.

Obama praised Blair’s integrity in a prepared statement and said that under his leadership the nation’s intelligence services had “performed admirably and effectively at a time of great challenges to our security.”

Blair’s offer to step down came during a phone conversation with Obama on Thursday in which the president said he planned to put someone new in the director position, according to an official familiar with the exchange. Blair’s exit creates a critical national security vacancy at a time when U.S. spy agencies are under pressure to step up their defenses against emerging terrorist threats.

His departure had been rumored in Washington for months, but the nature of his resignation — without a replacement ready to be named — suggested a lack of coordination.

The U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said Obama had first raised the possibility of replacing Blair in discussions with him earlier this week. The White House had indicated a preference that Blair stay in the job until a successor could be named. But Blair refused after learning that the president had decided to look for a new director, the official said.

Blair issued a statement saying that it was “with deep regret that I informed the President today that I will step down.” He added that during the Obama administration, U.S. spy agencies had become “more integrated, agile, and representative of American values.” Blair becomes the highest-ranking member of the administration to resign.

Current and former U.S. officials said the White House had discussed the position with former senator Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.), who serves as co-chair of Obama’s intelligence advisory board; James R. Clapper, a retired Air Force lieutenant general serving as undersecretary of defense for intelligence; and John Hamre, a former deputy secretary of defense who leads the Defense Policy Board.

Clapper is a leading candidate to replace Blair, a senior White House official said Thursday night, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the search continues. Officials said Hagel told the White House he would not be interested in the position. The former senator was abroad and could not be reached for comment.

Blair had been charged with carrying out Obama’s campaign pledge to move the country away from controversial programs — including the CIA’s use of harsh interrogation methods — that administration officials argued had damaged the nation’s standing around the world. But much like his predecessors, Blair struggled to gain traction in a position that is widely seen as lacking adequate authority to oversee an often fractious community of 16 spy services.

Blair sometimes made public remarks that revealed his frustration with the way the intelligence community functions, and that were seen as embarrassing to the administration.

In January, Blair questioned the administration’s failure to use a new team of specially trained interrogators to question the suspect in the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas Day. The unit was created for such scenarios, Blair said in Senate testimony, adding, “And duh . . . the decision was made on the scene.”

Try to find a picture of Irina Pavlova, I dare you. If my mad Google skills couldn’t suss it out, it doesn’t exist. The new owner of the New Jersey Nets, Russian Mikhail Prokhorov, has appointed Irina Pavlova as president of the company that will oversee his ownership of the Nets and their new stadium he’s building.
“She will work closely with the management structure of the Nets to create all conditions necessary for successful development of the team,” he said.
But who is she? Well, she has an MBA from Stanford. She worked for Google, and before that for Prudential. She’s fluent in Russian, English and Spanish. She has lived in the U.S. for over 10 years, and is the daughter of a Soviet diplomat who grew up in Moscow and Washington. She also has apparently never been photographed!
I want to know what she looks like! Especially what she looks like in a New Jersey Nets shirt, because according to her boss, going to games will be part of her job.

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has dropped out of the Tour of California after crashing during the race, leaving him with a bruise on his elbow and needing stitches for a cut under his left eye.

The accident occurred as a group of cyclists crashed in an area of narrow road, about 5 miles into stage 5 of the eight-day race, according to Business Week. Fellow American Levi Leipheimer was also involved in the crash.

Both Armstrong and Leipheimer rejoined the race, but Armstrong decided to drop out at the 13-mile mark.

In an email statement, provided by Armstrong’s RadioShack team he wrote “I tried to give it a go but my eye was swollen so I couldn’t see properly and the pain in the elbow prevented me from holding the bars… It was a relief to learn there were no breaks.”

He continued “It was one of those crashes that put a bunch of us down… It will take a few days to recover and be on the bike as soon as possible.”

Business Week reports that Armstrong’s withdrawal from the cycling event came only hours after he denied allegations by former teammate Floyd Landis that he was “one of many American riders who used performance-enhancing drugs in recent years.”
